I feel I've come a long way as a potter. For many years I considered myself an amateur craftsman, just trying to make a mound of clay do as I wished, working many hours on the wheel with little gratification and not feeling very artistic. I have always needed an outlet to create, and as each year goes by, I feel better and better about my work, whether I use porcelain or stoneware, whether I hand build or sit at the wheel. Every piece is a challenge, and I feel great joy when the end product is as I wished it.

I live and work as a hairstylist in Nevada and come over to Ames to do my pottery as often as I can, enjoying the time with my friends at Creative Artists' Studios of Ames (CASA).
