Artwork By Phyllis Garner Is Available At Gallery 319, Ames, Iowa.

"In 1970, a friend of mine who was a stay-at-home mom and ex-art teacher, brought together other stay-at-home moms, including me. It was the very best thing I ever did. We were all short on cash then, so we painted with oil on pressed board. I painted a lot of pictures, one of which my youngest son still hangs in his living room.

Then in 1985, when I was living in Seattle, and my children were grown, that once again I picked up a paintbrush. I then found myself in Des Moines, Iowa, but was still not able to paint as much as I wanted until my retirement in 1999. Now I am able to paint every day. I will always be grateful to my friend, whose name is also Phyllis, for starting me out on this wonderful journey. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy doing it."
