"I am an Iowa native, and woodturning has been my passion for the past six years. In my work, I gather inspiration from a wide variety of sources, including: pottery, glass, art books, and forms found in nature. However, I have learned that the best inspiration comes from the wood itself. Through practice, I have learned that you cannot form a piece of wood to do what you want it to do. Rather, you must work in harmony with the wood and let it tell you what it wants to become. And it is this relationship that makes working with wood so enjoyable."
