Artwork By Lee Anne Willson Is Available At Gallery 319, Ames, Iowa.

"My 'modular origami quilts' are constructed from approximately one hundred squares of paper. (To discover the number of squares used, count the small diagonal squares in the finished piece.) Each square of paper is folded, creating channels that are used to link the units together. I cut most of my own paper from origami paper or wrapping paper collected during my travels or found around Ames.

Sometimes the piece is inspired by the design on the paper, and other times, by discovering a new way to separate visual elements in the design. I enjoy contrasts, such as an irregular pattern on the paper 'tamed' by the defined edges of the folding, or the impression of a curve produced by a profusion of straight-line segments."
