"My lifetime love of art is reflected in every piece I make, from vases and pots to my newest creations of wall hangings. As a ceramic potter, I find the raku process of clay finishing exciting, dramatic and unique. Its metallic glazes and smoky black clay bodies lend themselves well to my unconventional, non-utilitarian forms. My vases, covered jars and abstract pots are thrown on a wheel, and then altered - often by the addition of vivid sculptural features. To expand beyond the limitations imposed by the potter's wheel, I have begun to work with mounting my raku tiles in wall hangings. These wall hangings can include pieces salvaged from discarded chairs, beds and tables."
